How do I switch between local and cloud AI modes?
SigMeet's AI lineup—AI Live Agents, AI Screenshots, Talk Bite for podcasts, and AI summarization—works with either local models or cloud providers. Open the Launchpad or the menu bar settings, then choose AI Providers to pick local models or link your preferred cloud services.
Will my meeting data leave my Mac?
By default, no. Local mode keeps audio, transcripts, and generated files inside a folder you choose on your own file system. Cloud requests run only when you enable them and respect BYOK or SigMeet AI Cloud policies.
What's the difference between cloud AI providers and SigMeet AI Cloud?
When you use an external cloud provider you supply your own API key, and SigMeet connects straight to that service with no SigMeet backend in the loop—so only do this on networks you trust. SigMeet AI Cloud instead routes requests to SigMeet-run GPU servers hosting heavily optimized open-source models; responses are processed in memory, no data is stored, and pricing stays far lower than vendors like OpenAI, Claude, or Gemini.
How does the local AI setup work?
SigMeet downloads open-source models to your Mac and runs them on your GPU. During setup the app asks you to run a performance test so it can pick the best configuration. Expect the fans to spin up and keep the Mac plugged in—the GPU works hard and can drain the battery quickly. The trade-off is that every AI action stays on your machine with nothing shared externally.
Which data do the SigMeet app and SigMeet AI Cloud collect?
Privacy stays paramount. Sessions, notes, recordings, and conversations remain in the folders you control, and you decide how to back them up. SigMeet only keeps the subscription details required for billing plus crash and usage diagnostics that help improve stability. SigMeet AI Cloud processes requests transiently, and no AI-generated content is stored by SigMeet.
Does SigMeet work while screen sharing?
Yes. Floating agents stay invisible to viewers, while agent boards can be shared intentionally. You can flip between modes anytime without restarting transcription.
